Body painting is as old as civilization itself, but the materials we use today dont have to be.
The material most commonly used today is liquid latex, and what is so great about it is that is both versatile, colorful, and safe.
For starters, liquid latex is incredibly durable, in that it is highly elastic. What this means for you is when you apply it to your body, you know that it is going to adapt to whatever activities you are planning.
On the flip-side, liquid latex naturally shrinks about three percent, which creates a skin-tight feeling, that may take some time getting used to, but is ultimately very freeing. And, although it is very close to the skin, it is a material that naturally breathes, allowing you to sweat normally while not clogging your pores. This way you dont have to worry about being uncomfortable while wearing liquid latex. Also, rest assured that liquid latex is 100% non-toxic, as it is a water-based polymer.
Another great thing about liquid latex is that it is naturally clear. Couple that with its ability to adhere to any color you add to it, and you have a body-paint rainbow at your disposable. So whether you are getting your torso ready for the big game or just having some fun, your ideas of how you should look will become a reality.
An unexpected bonus of using liquid latex is how you will feel after you wash it off. By not clogging your pores, it actually keeps your pores open, and so when the paint comes off, your skin will be exfoliated and softer than you can imagine. So by using liquid latex on your skin, youre actually helping your skin become healthier!
Some caution should be used for first time users, especially if you have allergies to ammonia and/or latex. By simply testing a small area of skin with a sample painting, you will know if liquid latex is right for you.
The applications for liquid latex are only constrained by your imagination. With a little experimentation, you will soon be on your way to the ultimate body-painting experience.
